My big bitch is how Americans refer to hockey as "Ice Hockey." Why is this. I love baseball, but I don't go around calling it "grass baseball" or "dome baseball." Wise up, it's just hockey and it is by far the greatest game on the planet. Why? 1. There is no out of bounds 2. Skating is not an inate ability such as walking/running. It takes great skill to learn how to skate while running is instinctive. 3. There are no time-outs called while the play is in progress (ie basketball). 4. It is amazingly fast. Please feel free to email me any additional reasons why hockey is the greatest game on earth or why Americans insist on calling it "ice hockey." | |||||||||||||||||||||||
